Atinary propels innovation forward through a Strategic Collaboration with ELCA and AWS

Challenges

Atinary Technologies offers Machine Learning and advanced Data Analytics solutions to accelerate R&D operations and discovery of new molecules and materials across various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, fragrances, and food and beverages, among others. Handling highly sensitive data in these sectors calls for compliance with strict regulations and security standards. Moreover, as Atinary expands, it must meet diverse requirements of clients situated in different countries and regions.
Considering these factors, Atinary migrated its cloud infrastructure to AWS. This migration presents several challenges, including ensuring the secure handling and storage of sensitive data, maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and seamlessly scaling infrastructure to accommodate the company's growth and diverse client base. Additionally, Atinary must navigate the complexities of AWS services and architectures to optimize their operations while upholding the highest standards of security and compliance.

Solution

ELCA supported Atinary in evaluating their options and preparing for their migration to AWS. Starting with an assessment of the existing infrastructure, ELCA provided answers to Atinary’s questions and solutions to their challenges built upon expertise from prior projects and a long-standing partnership with AWS. ELCA then helped to define the target architecture and design a landing zone, following best practices to meet the requirements of Atinary and their clients.
ELCA´s solution built for Atinary on AWS focuses on a multi-account strategy to enhance security, prioritize defence-in-depth, leveraging diverse AWS services across multiple layers. Distributed deployment of services ensures consistent guardrails, while delegated administration offers flexibility. Centralized monitoring, governance, and the use of AWS Control Tower further bolster security controls across the project.

Results

The resulting report and diagrams from this work provided Atinary with a clear path to carry out their migration to AWS. The applied Best Practices and the guidelines of the Well-Architected framework ensure that the security and compliance needs of Atinary’s clients are met. This solution not only addresses Atinary's immediate challenges but also sets the foundation for scalable, secure, and compliant operations in the future. By partnering with ELCA and leveraging AWS technologies, Atinary is well-positioned to drive accelerated innovation forward and to meet the evolving needs of its clients across various industries and regions.
